Job summary

Coronado Care Center in Portales, NM is seeking a qualified Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our care team on full-time 12-hour shifts.

You will work under the charge nurse to ensure safe, timely medication passes and uphold a high standard of resident care, with a focus on accuracy and compassionate service to our residents daily.

Qualifications

• English communication skills required in speech and writing.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Current Medication Aide certification required.

Responsibilities

• Reports promptly any change of patient condition or concerns to supervision.
• Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
• Reports medication reorder as needed.
• Participates in meetings, trainings and in-service as required.
• Maintains inventory documentation of drugs on forms.
• Ensure current certification for Medication Aide.

Your Job

A CMA is under the direct supervision of the charge nurse. The charge nurse will follow up with the CMA to ensure the med pass is completed timely and accurately to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Current certification for Medication Aide.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Reports promptly any change of patient condition or other concerns to Patient Care Supervisor.
• Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
• Reports medication reorder.
• Participates in all assigned meetings, trainings, education and in-service as required.
• Inventory documentation of drugs on appropriate forms.
• Current certification for Medication Aide.
