Job summary

Regency Newcastle is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to provide individualized resident care in our retirement and assisted living community. You will administer medications, monitor health, and support daily activities with a focus on enhancing residents' well-being.

Starting wage is $21 per hour (based on experience) with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff. We offer incentives, shift differentials, free meals, and a comprehensive benefits package to our team.

Qualifications

• HCA certification required in the state of employment.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable.
• Read, write, speak and understand English at a functional level.
• Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper dosage/distribution and instruct residents on medication per physician directions.
• Take vital signs, monitor weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens and assist with mobility.
• Attend to residents' needs including grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, and transfers.
• Ensure care plans are followed and communicate observations to care staff.
• Document care in accordance with department policies.

As a CMA, you provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You also administer, instruct, and monitor resident medications and report to the wellness director.

• Ensure proper dosage/distribution and instruct residents on application/consumption of medication per the direction of their physician
• Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
• Attend to the resident's needs, including; grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements
• Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
• Document care in keeping with department policies

Med. Tech - must have HCA or CNA

You Currently

• Possess an HCA certification in the state of employment
• Can obtain CPR/BLS card

• Communicate and interact tactfully with others
