Job summary

Clarendale at Bellevue Place in Nashville, TN invites a Certified Medication Aide to join our hospitality‑focused team. This role administers medications as prescribed, documents effectiveness, and observes for adverse reactions under supervision of a licensed nurse. Both full‑time and part‑time night shifts (6:00 PM–6:30 AM) are available.

Starting pay is $24.00/hour based on experience. Required: TN Department of Health Medication Aide Certification.

Qualifications

• Current TN Department of Health Medication Aide Certification.
• 1 year experience as HHA/CNA/PCA/RA preferred.
• 1 year experience in Assisted Living or Health Care preferred.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and maintain safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with medication administration per Care Plan/ISP as directed by physician orders.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.) per policy.
• Make beds, tidy rooms, and support daily living tasks.
• Assist residents with meals and feeding as needed.
• Participate in Heartfelt Connections programs and maintain a calm, clean environment.
• Report unusual resident status or medication issues to supervisors.

This role is responsible to administer medications as prescribed by the physician, documents the administration, the medication effectiveness, and any noted adverse reactions or side effects under the supervision of a licensed nurse. We have full time and part time shifts available. Must have current TN Department of Health Medication Aide Certification.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist residents as assigned with a high quality of medication administration assistance per individual Care Plan/ISP as directed by physician orders.
• Assist with personal care, including but not limited to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy (where applicable).
• Make beds as needed in A.M., turn down as needed in P.M., strip beds once each week or PRN (where applicable).
• Do all personal laundry on resident’s first scheduled shower day (where applicable).
• Do all linens per shift (where applicable).
• Assist residents with meal time, cut food, encourage to eat, feed when needed (where applicable).
• Utilize on an on-going basis each day all aspects of special programs offered in Heartfelt Connections Program (where applicable).
• Maintain calm atmosphere at all times.
• Keep kitchen, work station, laundry room, and bathroom and common areas neat and clean
• Follow through with all assignments on a timely basis in accordance to chain of command.
• Report to Director of Health Services and/or LPN-LVN-Care Partner all unusual behavior of resident (changing of status) or refusal of medications.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year experience working as HHA/CNA/PCA/RA preferred
• One (1) year experience working in Assisted Living or Health Care preferred

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• TN Department of Health Medication Aide Certification
• Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
• Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease
