Job summary

Birmingham Green in Manassas, VA seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant/Medication Aide (CNA/Med Aide) to join our resident-centered team. This full-time role includes weekend shifts with a new differential, medication assistance, personal care, and documenting care in our systems.

Requirements include current CNA and Medication Aide licenses, a High School/GED, CPR and First Aid; minimum six months in a skilled or long-term care setting; and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license is required.
• Current Medication Aide license is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum six months of hands-on experience in a skilled or long-term care facility.
• Able to work weekends.
• CPR certification required.
• First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prescribed personal care services for residents under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
• Assist with self-administration of medicines, monitor medication supplies and documentation.
• Prepare and administer medications when necessary.
• Follow established procedures to ensure residents are comfortable in a safe environment.
• Perform other duties to support patient care and department operations.
• Document activities through Point of Care systems and various sheets as required by the facility.
• Must be able to lift without restrictions.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Provide prescribed personal care services for the residents, under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
• Assists with self-administration of medicines, including monitoring of medication supplies and documentation.
• Prepares and administers medication when necessary.
• Follow the established procedures and standards, to enable the residents to enjoy emotional and physical comfort in a safe and caring environment.
• Perform any other duties required to help patient care and maintenance of a smoothly operating department.
• Document activities through Point of Care (POC), ADL Flow sheet, Restorative Sheets, various treatment sheets, charge sheets, etc. as established by the facility.
• Must be able to lift without restrictions.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Experience/Skills/Education

Required:

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license
• Current Medication Aide license
• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Minimum six months of hands‑on experience in a skilled or long term care facility
• Able to work weekends
• CPR certification
• First Aid certification

Preferred:

• Exposure to the senior population
• Familiarity with Point of Care (POC)
• Desire to serve and care for the senior population
