The role you’ll contribute to:

The Certified Medical Assistant works under the supervision of the physician or mid-level provider, assisting in safe and effective patient care in compliance with standards and protocols of Gordon Physicians Group, Gordon Hospital, and Adventist Health Systems.

Responsibilities include routine back-office functions such as maintaining patient flow, preparing exam rooms, recording medical histories, and assisting physicians or nurses as needed.

Additional duties include managing provider/nurse messages, scheduling, prescription refills, clinical compliance, sterilization, medication oversight, OSHA requirements, and other standards within the clinical practice.

• Ensuring patient comfort in the exam room.
• Performing EHR intake, including reviewing medication lists, allergies, and vital signs, and entering data into the electronic medical record following Meaningful Use regulations.
• Assisting physicians and providers with examinations and treatments.
• Supporting office surgeries with sterile procedures and appropriate setup.
• Performing phlebotomy and laboratory tests in accordance with regulations, including CLIA, and ensuring quality assurance protocols are followed.
• Screening calls, taking accurate clinical messages, and addressing routine patient inquiries within scope and policy.
