Position: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - North Lima Pediatrics - Float - PRN

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant works closely with primary care physicians to deliver excellent patient care, within the scope of Medical Assisting and state guidelines. Responsibilities include reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms for examinations.

Essential Functions:
  • Providing excellent customer service by greeting patients respectfully
  • Preparing and reviewing patient charts for upcoming visits, verifying all records are accurate and current
  • Measuring vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height
  • Performing clerical duties like checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones
  • Troubleshooting and resolving problems promptly
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Education:
  • High School Degree or GED
Licensure/Certification:

Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following:

  • CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, or NCCT
  • If unable to obtain MA certification, Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) is acceptable (not in South Carolina)

BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required at hire for some locations, and preferred or required prior to independent patient care elsewhere.

Experience:
  • One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
  • Problem-solving, basic computer skills, and excellent communication
  • Professional interaction with staff and patients
Position:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care under physician supervision, assessing and preparing patients for visits, observing and reporting responses to care, and collaborating on care plans.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Analyzing assessment data and evaluating patient conditions
  • Providing education to patients and families
  • Coordinating care with other healthcare providers
  • Administering medications according to policies and regulations
  • Serving as a clinical mentor in lead roles

Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned, with the understanding that this list is not exhaustive.

Licensing/Certification:
  • Active LPN licensure
  • BLS certification
Work Experience:
  • One year of clinical patient care experience (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge to provide appropriate care across all ages
  • Ability to learn and operate computer-based scheduling systems
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
