Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant works closely with primary care physicians to deliver excellent patient care, ensuring services are provided within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines. Responsibilities include reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community respectfully.
  2. Prepares and reviews patient charts for upcoming visits, verifying that all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are accurate and current.
  3. Measures vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  4. Performs clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones as needed.
  5. Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Degree or GED

Licensure/Certification:

Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required):

  • CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, or NCCT certification from recognized bodies.
  • If unable to obtain MA certification, Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) is acceptable (not in South Carolina).

BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required at hire for certain locations and preferred or required prior to independent patient care elsewhere.

Experience:

  • One year of healthcare experience as a medical assistant (preferred).
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional engagement with staff and patients.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care under physician supervision, assessing and preparing patients for provider visits, and observing, recording, and reporting responses to care.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Analyzes assessment data, evaluates patient condition, and collaborates on care plans.
  2. Provides patient, family, and staff education under provider or manager direction.
  3. Coordinates patient care with other healthcare entities.
  4. Administers medications safely, following policies and state regulations.
  5. Serves as a clinical and professional mentor within the practice.

This list is not exhaustive; employees may perform other duties as required.

Licensing/Certification:

  • Active LPN licensure.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Work Experience:

  • One year of clinical patient care experience (preferred).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to provide appropriate care to all ages.
  • Ability to learn and use computer-based scheduling and registration systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
