Job summary

Ovation Healthcare is seeking a skilled medical coder to join our ruralMED team. You will accurately code a wide range of specialties and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines to maximize reimbursement.

Responsibilities include reviewing notes and reports, abstracting necessary data for entry and reporting, staying current with coding changes, and collaborating with billing to resolve denials. CPC/CCS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• CPC or CCS certification required.
• 3–5 years of multi-specialty coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS.

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for diverse services.
• Review documentation to extract information for coding.
• Abstract data from patient records for data entry and reporting.
• Clarify ambiguous documentation with physicians to ensure accuracy.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and regulatory changes.
• Participate in regular coding audits and provide process feedback.
• Collaborate with billing to resolve coding denials.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Assist in training junior coders as needed.
