Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal training program or an associate’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Certified Medical Coding Certification required.
• Experience applying standardized rules to perform coding tasks and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract medical records using ICD-10, CPT-4 and HCPCS guidelines.
• Ensure final diagnoses and procedures reflect provider notes and are accurate.
• Verify documentation completeness and medical necessity for services.
• Collaborate with Providers and Billing staff on coding issues.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and secure handling of records.
