Job summary

UnityPoint Clinic in Norwalk, IA seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or CMA with Limited Radiology for a family medicine setting. You will support physicians during exams, take vitals, document in the EHR, and perform limited radiographic imaging as authorized.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; Certificate, diploma, or Associate's Degree required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through a recognized credential.
• Current Iowa Limited Radiography Permit required for Limited Radiography roles.
• Knowledge of radiographic safety practices and ability to perform limited diagnostic imaging.
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC is a plus.
• Locations may require staffing at other UnityPoint Clinic sites to support coverage.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures.
• Room patients, record histories, vital signs, and document in the EHR.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of certification.
• Perform limited radiographic imaging and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and maintain radiology equipment.
• Educate patients on health, medications, imaging procedures, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups; maintain a clean, safe environment.

Education
