Job summary

Texas Health Physicians Group in Flower Mound, TX seeks a Certified Medical Assistant Float to support multiple clinics with CMA duties, vital signs, injections and lab tasks. You’ll join a collaborative team and float among Grapevine, Southlake, Coppell and Flower Mound locations.

Ideal candidates hold CMA certification, High School Diploma, BCLS, and 1 year MA experience, with THPG Clinical Training completion within 90 days. Full-time day shifts; sign-on bonus for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED.
  • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant upon hire REQUIRED.
  • 1 year Medical Assistant experience in last 3 years REQUIRED.
  • Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training with competency within 90 days REQUIRED.
  • BCLS upon hire REQUIRED.
  • Non-certified Radiologic Technician training may be required on hire.

  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs and presenting problems.
  • Administer medications and vaccines per orders.

Main Location is 4001 Long Prairie Road Flower Mound, TX 75028; Will float between locations in Grapevine, Southlake, Coppell and Flower Mound

Work hours

Full Time (40 Hour) Day Shift; Monday - Friday (Varies from clinic to clinic)

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • 1 year Medical Assistant experience within the last three years (REQUIRED)
  • Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills - within 90 days of job entry (REQUIRED)
  • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant upon hire (REQUIRED)
  • No New CMAs; experience is a MUST!
  • NCT - Non-certified Radiologic Technician training may be required upon hire (PREFERRED)
  • BCLS upon hire (REQUIRED)
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections as needed by assigned clinic
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrated knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
What You Will Do
  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
  • May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
