Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our Southeast Urgent Care team. The CMA will support patient care, assist with examinations and procedures, and educate patients on health and follow-up care.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, recording histories and vitals, and maintaining a clean clinical environment while coordinating referrals to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (certificate, diploma, or associate's degree) required.
• Valid CMA/Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential from a recognized certifying organization required.
• Prior clinical or outpatient experience preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC is a plus.
• For UnityPoint Clinic locations, may float to other sites to support staffing.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures.
• Room patients, record histories and vital signs, document in the EHR.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and other treatments per licensure scope.
• Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up patient care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
