Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through WellMed, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Austin to assist physicians with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and patient care while maintaining documentation and confidentiality. You will room patients, manage care coordination, and support clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or registration required or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Basic computer literacy and knowledge of medical terminology are required.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding is preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant (injections, EKGs, phlebotomy).
• Rooms patients according to company standards.
• Records patient care documentation accurately and timely.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and policies.
• Processes documents in an organized, accurate fashion.
• Respects patient confidentiality at all times.
• Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and sterilizes instruments.
• Maintains MA and CPR certifications and quality control standards.
• Participates in marketing events as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
