Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care at our clinic in Cumming, GA. The role focuses on welcoming patients, preparing them for visits, and communicating necessary information for their appointments.

The MA will perform point-of-care tests, EKGs, vital signs, phlebotomy, meds administration under Provider supervision, and ensure a clean, ready treatment area. 1 year of experience and national certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required (NHA, AAMA, AMT, AMCA, NAHP, NCCT, or AAH).
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Current BLS certification preferred; required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests and EKGs; suture/staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the Provider.
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
