Job summary

VillageMD in McDonough, GA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and ensure a smooth, welcoming visit experience. You will prepare patients for appointments, communicate required information, and assist with procedures to reinforce satisfaction and trust.

The role requires Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials, phlebotomy experience, and a strong focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant credential required or preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification preferred; must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER is preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed.
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
