Job summary

VillageMD in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and communication, ensuring an exceptional patient experience. You will welcome patients, prepare them for visits, and convey important information about scheduled services.

The role requires Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant status, current BLS, and phlebotomy experience, with 1 year of experience preferred. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• High School Diploma/Equivalency required.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations
• Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment
• Other duties as assigned
