Job summary

UW Medicine Primary Care at Shoreline is seeking a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) for a part-time, 37.5-hour work week in Seattle. You will support clinicians, prepare exam rooms, and assist with procedures in a busy primary care clinic.

The role requires completing a CAAPHEP/ABHES-accredited MA program or equivalent and Washington MA-C certification within 6 months of hire. BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by a recognized accrediting board.
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months of hire.
• Valid AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient, family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
• Assist in transporting patients as required
