Job summary

UW Medicine Primary Care at Ballard is hiring a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) to support our team in Ballard. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, performing injections, preparing exam rooms, and handling pre-authorizations and point-of-care tests. A strong patient-first approach and ability to work with providers is essential.

Two day shift options with occasional Saturday rotation, 40 hours per week, and participation in a comprehensive benefits program are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent).
• Washington State MA-C certification or eligibility within 6 months of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records.
• Perform injections.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Submit medication prior authorizations.
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to provider.
• Act as a liaison between patient, family and providers.
• Assist provider with procedures and medical exams.
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values.
• Assist in transporting patients as required.
