Job summary

Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Newport, ME, is seeking a Medical Assistant for full-time employment. The role supports medical practitioners, assists with procedures, and handles lab follow-ups. Work schedule is 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with salary range $20.00-$24.15 per hour.

Eligible for a sign-on bonus; exempt: No. The position involves phlebotomy, records management, and coordinating between patient, hospital, and providers.

Qualifications

• Assist practitioners with medical procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections as needed.
• Maintain patient records and coordinate with providers.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients to be seen by provider.
• Assists provider with minor surgical procedures.
• Performs in office testing and treatment.
• Triage patient calls as needed.
• Remind patient of appointment as necessary.
• Collect necessary reports/information prior to patients’ appointments.
• Execute standing orders, routine preventative services and/or prescription refills as authorized by provider.
• Notify patient of applicable results, communicating recommendations of diagnostic studies
