Job summary

University Clinical Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Office Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant to support administrative and clinical tasks across patient care workflows.

Responsibilities include scheduling, greeting patients, registrations, updating demographics, and collecting copays. The role may involve assisting in procedures, stocking supplies, and coordinating with surgical teams, while maintaining HIPAA and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification is required.
• 1–2 years of related work experience preferred; if not certified, certification must be obtained within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Room patients in the clinic, check vitals, obtain patient history, take patient photos, and triage.
• Coordinate with external offices and hospitals for mutual patients and procedure scheduling.
• Enter physician orders and perform follow-ups.
• Collect specimens and process send-offs.
• Maintain clinic flow through communication with providers and RNs.
• Process prescription refill authorizations.
• Assist with wound care and dressing changes.
• Prepare charts for upcoming clinics and review prior visits.
• Answer phones and triage patient needs.
• Stock rooms and monitor inventory.
• Sterile processing of instruments.
• Complete administrative tasks including FMLA paperwork and patient callbacks.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and perform charge entry.
• Provide front desk coverage as needed (check-in/out, copays, scheduling).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
