Job summary

UFJPI in Jacksonville, FL seeks a professional multi-skilled Medical Assistant to support both administrative and clinical tasks under the supervision of a licensed physician. The role involves taking vital signs, preparing patients for care, documenting records, and assisting with examinations.

Requirements include CMA within 6 months, BLS at hire, and 1 year of MA or related experience preferred. May travel to other clinics as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required or within 6 months
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Take patient's vital signs and prepare for care.
• Assist with examinations or treatments.
• Document medical records with signature, date and time.
• Administer medications under supervision of licensed physician.
• Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed.
• Administer basic first aid.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Coordinate patient care as an active care team member.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff and other customers.
