Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant at Western Branch Family Practice in Virginia. The role supports the primary care physician, reviews health records, and prepares exam rooms to ensure timely, accurate patient care.

The candidate will measure vitals, assist with clerical tasks, and maintain high-quality customer service. A CMA/MA certification and BLS are required, with experience in a clinical office preferred. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA/RMA/CCMA/NHA/NCCT etc. is required.
• BLS from American Heart Association is required at hire (preferred before independent patient care).
• 1 year of medical assistant healthcare experience is preferred.
• Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community in a respectful manner with excellent service.
• Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits, verify diagnostic tests and hospital reports.
• Measure vital signs: pulse, respiration, BP, weight, height.
• Perform clerical duties: inventory, stock, referrals, and inbound calls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
