Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of healthcare providers. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, screen histories, assist with exams, and maintain accurate EHR documentation.

Responsibilities include coordinating care with the team, performing back-office testing, and possibly acting as a scribe. CPR and MA certification within 120 days are required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under provider supervision.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs and review history.
• Review and update medication list in the EHR.
• Perform back office testing following approved protocols.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a medical scribe.
• Provide follow-up with patients per provider instructions.
• Maintains exam rooms and inventory of supplies.
• Sterilize instruments per policy.
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical duties.
