Job summary

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our New Iberia, LA location. This full-time role combines clinical duties with administrative tasks, including prior authorizations, referrals, reviewing patient messages, and EMR data entry to ensure smooth care workflows.

You will perform venipuncture, urinalysis, vital signs, and assist in the lab as needed while maintaining patient safety and compassionate care for diverse age groups.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of state approved Medical Assistant school.
• Current license as a Medical Assistant in the State of Louisiana.
• Six months previous medical office experience required.

Responsibilities

• The CMA renders safe nursing care, performs venipunctures, urinalysis, and assist in the lab for pediatric to geriatric patients; takes vital signs and administers medications per MD orders.
• The CMA handles requests for medical records and responds to community referrals, attorney, physician, and insurer requests.
