Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Graduate. Graduate of state approved Medical Assistant school. Current license as a Medical Assistant in the State of Louisiana.
• Six months previous medical office experience required.
• Knowledge of nursing processes, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology; thorough knowledge of medical procedures and pharmacology drugs.

Responsibilities

• Renders safe nursing care and performs venipunctures, urinalysis, basic lab duties, vital signs; administers meds per MD orders; supports referrals and call-backs.
• Responds to requests for medical records from attorneys, physicians and insurers; handles Community Care referrals and ER requests.
