Job summary

Orlando Health Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient care under physician direction in an ambulatory setting. The role involves data gathering, preparing patients for exams, assisting physicians, and documenting care per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or 5 years of verifiable applicable work experience in patient care setting).
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification and one of CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Supports and participates in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and clinical outcome process improvement activities.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation; prepares patients for examination.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination and supports physician during examination and procedures.
• Documents patient data, treatments, procedures, and education according to Orlando Health policies.
• Acts as liaison to schedule specialty testing and physician consultations and communicates scheduling information to patients.
