Job summary

Regional One Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to deliver high-quality patient care and provide clerical support in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will gather and verify registration information, collect co-pays, and help coordinate care with physicians and staff.

The role requires completion of an approved Medical Assistant program, CPR certification, and at least one year of experience. You will handle specimens, basic lab tasks, EKGs, and patient scheduling in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Upon Hire Required
• At least 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• Qualified by education, training or experience to work with a range of patient ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician and providers to examine and treat patients, including injections and wound care.
• Obtain and record patients' medical history, vital signs and other pertinent information.
• Collect, prepare and transport specimens; perform basic laboratory tasks and phlebotomy.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain supplies; operate basic medical equipment like ECGs.
• Guide patients through appointments, policies, rights and responsibilities.
• Complete and verify registration information and verify insurance details.
• Collect co-pays and manage cash at the point of service and reconcile daily receipts.
• Schedule follow-ups, referrals, and assist with prior authorizations as needed.
