Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient intake, vital signs, and triage, while assisting physicians and nurses with care. The role includes handling lab tasks, phlebotomy, and maintaining a clean treatment area in a fast-paced clinic.

The position requires high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old, and preferred one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office, with willingness to work at any center as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (4–7 hours).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work at any center due to staffing emergencies or reductions in work.

Responsibilities

• Locate patients and obtain accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures.
• Triage patients and prepare them for physicals and medical treatment.
• Use and understand the electronic medical record system.
• Order lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Assist Nurses and Physicians with patient care and treatment.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and lab duties as assigned.
• Sterilize and setup instruments; restock treatment rooms as needed.
• Report to the Charge Nurse before leaving the shift.
• Participate in staff meetings and follow established policies.
