Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking a Medical Assistant in South Elgin to support physicians, register patients, and perform routine exams and minor procedures. The role includes assisting with immunizations, managing prescriptions, and conducting onsite labs.

You will contribute to a patient-centered, collaborative team in a physician-led system. Requirements include a Medical Assistant program or higher, appropriate certification (or CPR) and potentially phlebotomy within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required.
• Active Medical Assistant certification through AMT, NCCT, NHA, ARMA, or AAMA; CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required.
• Phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history.
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures.
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections.
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing.
• Conduct onsite lab testing including EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests.
• Maintain clean, warm, inviting examination rooms for patient visits.
• Provide excellent customer service aligned with Duly Health and Care CARE values.
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Medical Assistant educational program

Medical Assistant Certification (AMT/NCCT/NHA/ARMA/AAMA) or CPR certification

Phlebotomy certification (within 90 days of hire)

2 years of experience in a medical office assisting with patient care
