Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Hoboken Primary Care team. This role supports providers, prepares patients for exams, administers injections, collects specimens, performs point-of-care testing, and documents visit details in the EMR to ensure accurate records and seamless patient flow.

The ideal candidate holds a CMA credential and BLS certification, has at least 6 months CMA experience, and familiarity with Epic.

Qualifications

• Must hold CMA credential and BLS certification.
• Minimum of 6 months CMA experience.
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Epic, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Administer injections and collect specimens.
• Document patient information, test results, and provider instructions in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient flow and maintain exam rooms and supplies.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Schedule appointments and process referrals in collaboration with the care team.
