RWJBarnabas Health in Union City, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the Primary Care team. The CMA will prepare patients, assist physicians, and perform routine clinical tasks in a fast-paced primary care setting.

This role requires CMA credential and BLS, with at least 6 months CMA experience. Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic) is preferred, and flexibility for varied shifts including weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• CMA credential and BLS required.
• At least 6 months CMA experience required.
• Experience with EMR systems, especially Epic, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Administer injections, collect specimens, perform point‑of‑care testing and related duties.
• Document patient information and test results in the EMR for continuity of care.
• Coordinate patient flow and prepare exam rooms to support efficient appointments.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
