Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• AAMA or AMT Medical Assistant certification preferred on hire and required within six months of hire date.
• Maintains BCLS certification.
• Reads, writes and performs basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient intake and discharge under supervision of a physician, NP, and/or RN; documents in the medical record.
• Performs checks of vital signs, collects routine specimens, performs ECG and phlebotomy.
• Assists providers with procedures as needed.
• Responds promptly to emergencies and aids other health care staff.
• Informs Physician, NP or RN of patient symptoms and progress; documents in medical record.
• Maintains positive appearance and guest relations; respects confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as requested.
