Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join a compassionate, patient‑focused team at our Newark campus. Under supervision, you will assist physicians and nurses with a range of clinical tasks, from vital sign checks to phlebotomy and ECG, while supporting patient flow and documentation.

You will work in a community hospital setting that values diversity and inclusion, safety, and high‑quality care for pediatric through geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• AAMA or AMT Medical Assistant certification preferred upon hire and required within six months of hire date.
• Maintains BCLS certification.
• Completes orientation to LMHS policies and patient care techniques.
• Demonstrates ability to assist in care for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient intake and discharge under supervision of a physician, NP, and/or RN/LPN; documents in the medical record.
• Performs tasks such as checks vital signs, collects routine specimens, performs ECG, phlebotomy.
• Assists providers with procedures.
• Responds to emergencies promptly and assists other health care providers as needed.
• Notes patient symptoms and progress in medical records and communicates with care team.
