Job summary

Geisinger Primary Care Mount Carmel is seeking a Regular Medical Assistant to support physicians in an outpatient setting. You will prepare patients, collect vital information, perform technical tasks, document in the EMR, and help maintain a safe, efficient clinic environment.

The role requires CMA or RMA certification and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; 1 year of related experience is preferred. Travel may be required within the site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient information using EMR rooming tool.
• Set up examination and treatment rooms between cases.
• Assist patient to prepare for visit and ensure safety and privacy.
• Provide direct patient care as directed, including EKGs and wound care.
• Administer medications per policy after competency validation; no IV meds.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and paperwork.
• Perform phlebotomy and assist in lab functions as needed.
• Handle receptionist and clerical duties; file reports and maintain records.
• Document in medical records and use EMR scheduling system.
• Facilitate scheduling, referrals, pre-authorizations, and co-pay collection.
• Assist with orientation of new personnel and patient education.
