New England Neurological Associates in Westford, MA is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for outpatient ambulatory care. The role supports physician orders, patient flow, and administrative duties while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate has MA education from an accredited program, BLS, and EMR experience. The position may involve floating to Lawrence and Chelmsford offices as needed, with a 40-hour work week Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant education from an accredited program, or graduation within 36 months prior to accreditation.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of medical office experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Bi-lingual abilities are a plus.
• Experience with electronic patient record systems (EMR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow in outpatient/ambulatory care to maximize provider and exam room efficiency.
• Prepare medical records for visits, verify patient identifiers, and document chief complaints and social history.
• Provide high-quality customer service and maintain a safe, clean clinical environment.
• Assist providers with exams, treatments, and procedures as needed.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for visits, ensuring comfort and privacy.
• Monitor patient safety, assess fall risk, and take appropriate precautions.
• Prepare exam rooms and stock supplies for each patient visit.
• Support billing by ensuring correct CPT/diagnosis codes and supplies are documented.
• Arrange for diagnostic testing, surgery, or inpatient admissions under supervision.
• Scan outside paperwork into EMR and manage referrals and prior authorizations.
