Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Houston, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support care teams across multiple clinics as part of a float pool. You will take vital signs, collect specimens, perform EKGs, assist with procedures, and help with patient education and care coordination.

You will document in the electronic medical record, reconcile medications, and ensure clear communication with patients and providers. Candidates should be certified CMA with strong clinical and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Certification as CMA or equivalent required at hire.
• Ability to perform venipuncture, EKGs and POCT.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a float pool resource to various clinics within designated, local region.
• Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture, collect specimens, EKGs/ECGs, and POCTs.
• Collects patient history, performs medication reconciliation and enters information in the electronic medical record.
• Notes the primary complaint/reason for patient’s visit.
• Sets up instruments and equipment for medical provider (MD, DO, PA NP).
• Assist with procedures as needed.
