Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Shreveport to support patient care under physicians, PAs, and NPs. The role includes accurate data entry for registrations and insurance verification, with a focus on professional, caring patient interaction.

The position follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. CMA certification is required and BLS is required, with 1 year of medical office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in giving superior medical care.
• Accurate Data Entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating patient accounts.
• Insurance Verification and recording of Statistics.
• Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of their benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.
