Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care at our Texas facility. You will handle data entry for registrations and insurance verification, and assist clinicians with patient care in a professional and caring manner.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate patient accounts and communications. CMA certification and BLS are required; 1 year of medical office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in patient care.
• Data entry of charges, patient registration, and updating accounts.
• Insurance verification and recording of statistics.
• Schedule patient appointments and inform patients of their benefits.
• Answer phones and keep providers informed of changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
