Job summary

CHRISTUS Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care with accurate data entry for registration and insurance verification. The CMA will demonstrate professional, caring conduct and communicate effectively with patients, families, and licensed staff.

The role requires CMA certification and BLS, 1 year of medical office experience preferred, and a Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM schedule. This is a full-time position at our San Antonio, Texas location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or preferred.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing medical care.
• Perform accurate data entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating records.
• Verify insurance information and record statistics for patient visits.
• Help schedule patient appointments, answer phones, and inform patients of benefits.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
