Job summary

Aultman Health Foundation seeks an experienced Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide clinical support to the physician and educate patients and families. You will room patients, obtain vital signs, and ensure current medication lists are accurate for physician assessment.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs, refilling medications, scheduling tests, documenting thoroughly in the EHR, and assisting with billing and forms.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program or Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
• Current certified/registered medical assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Must have current up-to-date CPR training.
• OSHA and HIPAA training as per office policy.
• Evidence of good health and reliability.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Check physician schedules frequently for add-ons or updates.
• Inspect patient records prior to visit to ensure completeness and test results availability.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation per policy and protocol.
• Room patients, obtain vitals, height/weight, and current meds list for physician assessment.
• Perform EKGs according to policy and protocol.
• Refill prescriptions according to policy and protocol.
• Schedule tests and procedures, including precertifications and authorizations.
• Complete and route billing information and medical forms.
• Educate patients about tests and medications ordered.
• Return patient calls and messages by end of the business day.
• Notify physician/provider immediately of abnormal lab results.
• Restock and clean exam rooms per protocol.
• Document accurately in the EHR and inform physicians of interactions.
• Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.
