Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Medical Assistant at Carle Health provides administrative and patient care support to keep the practice running smoothly in central Illinois. The role includes handling prior authorizations, verifying insurance benefits, and coordinating referrals and testing with the care team.

Holders of CMA/RMA credentials (ARMA/AAH/NCCT/AAMA/AMT/NAHP/NHA), plus BLS, will be preferred.

Qualifications

• RMA/CMA credentials listed in the qualifications.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Multiple CMA/RMA credentials may be required per listing.

Responsibilities

• Room patients by collecting chief complaint and history.
• Complete telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies and facilities.
• Gather, document, and maintain patient information via calls.
• Perform admin duties: check-in/out, prior authorizations, scheduling, benefits verification, referrals.
• Schedule patient appointments within the department.
• Obtain comprehensive family histories and pedigrees.
• Assist nursing staff with treatments and laboratory procedures.
• Help patients complete required forms and coordinate care with providers.
