Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited medical assisting program or equivalent required.
• License: CCMA, CMA or RMA.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision of physician or nurse.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition; document care provided.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies; reorder, stock, clean, troubleshoot; keep examination areas organized.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
