Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned area or office. Under physician supervision, you will assist with patient assessments and treatments, document care, and maintain supplies.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assistant program, and certification such as CCMA/CMA/RMA; BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision.

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: High school diploma or equivalent Required; Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent Required

License: CCMA, CMA or RMA

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.

Essential Functions

Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.

Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.

Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.

Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
