Job summary

Geisinger Danville is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide direct patient care in the outpatient setting and to support physicians and providers with clinical tasks.Responsibilities include patient preparation, room setup, EKGs, wound care, and assisting during minor procedures, with medication administration per policy.

Qualified candidates will have CMA or RMA certification, graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, and at least 1 year of related work experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CMA or RMA certification is required/preferred per governing bodies.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient information using EMR rooming tool.
• Set up examination and treatment rooms between cases.
• Assist patients for visits with providers and ensure patient safety and privacy.
• Provide direct patient care as directed, including EKGs and wound care.
• Prepare and administer medications per policy; may not administer IV meds.
