OSF HealthCare is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to perform delegated clinical and administrative tasks in a practice setting. The role may operate in both clinical and front office areas, providing clerical support and patient care under supervision from a physician or provider.

Required: high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant training program, and CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA certification from an approved agency.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Alternatively, CMA-related training with at least 6 months CMA experience or on-the-job training.
  • Current certification by CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA from approved certifying agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience.
  • May work in both clinical and front office functions, providing clerical support and assisting in delivery of health care and patient care activities under physician/provider direction.
  • Performs duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.

Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. Performs the duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED AND Must have completed a Medical Assistant training program
  • OR Medical Assistant Training Program equivalency: at least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization.
  • Licensure/ Certification: Current certification by ONE of the following approved certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Allied Health (AAH), earning Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning a National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) credential National HealthCare Association (NHA), earning Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), earning a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) credential
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with electronic health records or phlebotomy.
  • Licensure/ Certification: If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.
