Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform delegated clinical and administrative duties across clinical and front office settings. The role supports patient care delivery under the direction of physicians and providers, and involves clerical duties to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualified candidates will have completed a Medical Assistant program and may hold CMA/NCMA/CCMA/RMA credentials. BLS is preferred for Rural Health Clinic work.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Assistant training program.
• Equivalent training or 6 months CMA experience accepted.
• Current certification by AAMA/AMT/AAH/NCCT/NAHP/NRCMA or other approved agency preferred.
• BLS through American Heart Association preferred for Rural Health Clinic settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated clinical and administrative duties within Medical Assistant scope.
• Assist in both clinical and front office functions and provide clerical support.
• Support patient care delivery as directed by physician/provider.

Education

Medical Assistant training program

6 months CMA experience or equivalent training

Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. Performs the duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED AND Must have completed a Medical Assistant training program

OR Medical Assistant Training Programequivalency: at least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization.

Licensure/ Certification: Current certification by ONE of the following approved certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Allied Health (AAH), earning Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning a National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) credential National HealthCare Association (NHA), earning Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), earning a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) credential

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with electronic health records or phlebotomy.

Licensure/ Certification: If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.
