Job description

Certified Medical Assistant (North Carolina)

North Carolina

Boulder Care is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (internally referred to as a Care Advocate) for a 100% remote, full-time position in North Carolina with multiple shifts available based on team needs.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

About us

Founded in 2017, Boulder Care is a digital clinic offering long-term support and treatment for substance use disorders. Collaborating across medical, behavioral, and psychosocial dimensions, Boulder’s dedicated Care Teams deliver evidence-based care and help participants work toward their individual goals.

Boulder's model is grounded in value. Through innovative partnerships with leading national health plans like Blue Cross Blue Shield, Boulder’s progressive payment arrangements realign incentives to reward outcomes and reduce total cost of care. We can unlock billions of dollars for the US health system by ensuring patients who are gravely underserved today have the opportunity to get well.

Boulder Care is in an exciting stage of rapid growth, coming off a recent $35 million Series C round announced in May 2024, bringing total funds raised to roughly $85 million. Investors include Advance Venture Partners, First Round Capital, Laerdal Million Lives Fund, Qiming Venture Partners and Stripes among others.

About the role

The Care Advocate (CA) at Boulder Care is an important part of a collaborative team that works together to guide patients with substance use disorder throughout their treatment journey. As a Care Advocate, you will be part of an integral team that supports patients and clinicians. Your ability to form lasting, high trust relationships will meaningfully impact experience and overall success in the program.

Work from the convenience of your own home, with the occasional call and weekend coverage expected. Our mission
Based in science: Boulder care teams provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals.
Breaking down barriers: Boulder's proprietary technology suite makes care accessible, and convenient through secure video, phone, and messaging. We're reaching rural communities of the country, where more than 80% of people have little to no access to buprenorphine (Suboxone) prescribers. Boulder provides low-threshold care that is inclusive, empowering, and heavily influenced by participants' stated preferences and goals. Wherever our patients wish to go, we're grateful to go there together.
Grounded in empathy: Our care is science-based and rooted in harm reduction. Patients, peer recovery specialists, and clinicians make important decisions together.

Boulder Care believes the people who manage our product and team should be representative of those who use the platform. This includes people from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in the industry. We celebrate differences and are committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or veteran status. If you are a qualified person with a passion for what we do, please apply!
