Ascension's Internal Medicine clinic in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will interview patients, record vital signs, manage medical records, transcribe orders for labs and imaging, and handle essential administrative tasks to keep daily operations running smoothly. BLS certification and state-appropriate MA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Medical Assistant licensure/certification as required by state where work is performed.

• Facility: Ascension Medical Group Clinic
• Department: Internal Medicine
• Schedule: Monday 8:30am - 5pm, Tuesday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Assist providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining sterile and organized treatment rooms.
• Streamline clinic workflow by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and accurately recording medical histories in patient charts.
• Transcribe provider orders for labs, imaging, and prescriptions, ensuring all diagnoses and follow-up instructions are documented with high precision.
• Manage essential administrative duties, including medical record maintenance, clerical support, and inventory management to ensure seamless clinic daily operations.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
