Job summary

Tidelands Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to join a busy clinic team and support physicians with direct patient care. The role involves rooms preparation, vital signs, EKGs, and patient education in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of healthcare customer-facing experience, and CMA certs through approved bodies. BLS within 30 days of hire is required; prior phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of related customer facing experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Accompanying patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for exams.
• Performing and documenting vital signs.
• Assisting with procedures.
• Preparing and administering medications with physician’s authorization.
• Performing EKGs.
• Using CPR skills when required.
• Drawing blood.
• Providing patient education with regards to office policies, medication, and management of disease, home treatments, and special diets.
• Responsible for stocking exam rooms, cleaning rooms, cleaning instruments, disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards, and performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
• Adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
