Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under the supervision of a provider and the clinic manager to keep patients comfortable and the schedule on track.

The ideal candidate will have MA certification, CPR/BLS, and at least one year of full-time experience. Completion of a CAHEAP/ABHES-accredited program is preferred, with strong interpersonal skills and

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assisting program preferred but not required.
• MA certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and intake with vital signs and visit data.
• Collecting medical and social history from patients.
• Reviewing medications and allergies; assisting during procedures.
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection as directed.
• Administering medications under provider supervision.
• Performing tests (EKG, eye exams) under supervision.
• Ensuring exam rooms are stocked and ready.
• Providing post-visit instructions and education materials.
• Handling registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Answering clinic calls and assisting in-basket as needed.
• Assisting in emergencies and maintaining clinic safety.
• May train and mentor other medical assistants.
